Another bookstore
There were a couple of other rvs parked near us last night and a couple more showed up today. No one was kicked out so it was a good spot to park after all.
We decided to walk around Bar Harbor today. There are so many cute shops here, we saw so many cute things. One store sold only iridescent glass hand made items, like suncatchers, all very pretty and unique. Another store had some funny signs, one sign said for hippies to use the side door, and another sign by some wooden ducks, said not to touch or feed the birds.
Years ago Bernie had worked at a bed and breakfast here. She has many fond memories and it was nice for her to get back after all these years.
We knew the local hostel was having an open house this afternoon, so we went to check it out because we had never seen a hostel before. The people were very nice, we got to the tour of the house, and we learned a lot about hosteling.
After that we went back to Bella and decided to drive to Camden ME. On the way there we had to drive over an impressive bridge (see pic). This is a remarkable bridge and the pictures just don’t do it justice.
We came to Camden to see a bookstore called Owl and Turtle. With a name like that, we had to check it out. But it was closed when we got there so we went to explore the rest of Camden. This is a very cute town, very clean, and it has lots of specialty stores, and restaurants, and to our delight, several bookstores, a couple of which were still open.
It’s a small town so parking was a little hard to find. We asked around and finally found a good spot next to the information center, right on the harbor. As we were driving around the parking lot, a police officer drove by. We asked her if it was ok to park here and she said yes, so we settled in for the night.
