Step less

Today we said bye to our friend Elle as it was our last day in Halifax. It had been an adventure to get Bella parked behind the house. Well, it was even a bigger adventure to get her out. As we were pulling out and going around the bend in the driveway, we heard a very LOUD noise.

When we got out to check, it was our pull out step (ours is not electric) totally bent out of shape and yes, totally useless. Turns out we hit the dirt and rocks next to the house, so Elle got some new landscaping done without asking for it, and we decided not to charge her for our impromptu landscaping services :-) Actually she was very graceful and forgave us immediately.

Now step-less we headed towards Peggy's Cove. What an amazing place, the drive there is a bit challenging, but very rewarding in the end.

Peggy's Cove is the second most photographed spot in Canada, and it's easy to see why. It is such a peaceful place. We climbed the gigantic rocks, and sat to watch and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks. This is a picture perfect place and the weather was just perfect today.

When we left there, we stopped at a grocery store to pick up our groceries for the week. A gallon of milk was $7.29. We figured that was better than the $7.99 we saw before so we got it. Can't believe the price of milk here!

Or the price of gas ... in Prince Edward Island gas was about $1.26 per liter (approx 4 liters in a gallon). Here in Nova Scotia, gas is about $1.33 per liter. We filled up in PEI but will probably need to get gas again before we leave NS, unfortunately.

Next we drove to South Uniacke to meet Bob and Judy, they are here visiting his mother. We had met on a yahoo rv group and they offered us their driveway.

They weren't home when we got there so we waited. When they got home, we got to meet Bob's mother too. Bob helped us get the electric hooked up and then we all sat around the kitchen table getting to know each other, while sharing a cup of tea, with crackers and jam. We made some new friends today.

So glad you enjoyed Peggy's Cove. For such a tourist site, it really is beautiful raw nature.

It was absolutely wonderful meeting you both. What wonderful new friends to have made!

Elle

ps - I hope poor Bella's step was fixable!
