Heading north

We are now looking for a book about the buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. When we got up today we went straight into the used bookstore and though this was a well stocked bookstore the book was not there.

We headed out and went to see the only FLW house in Delaware, which was about 15 minutes from the bookstore. Built of stone, the Dudley Spencer House in Wilmington DE, is truly a work of art. With peaceful Zen inspired gardens the house blends in beautifully with the surrounding landscape.

Then we drove north less than an hour to Cherry Hill NJ to see the Sweeton House. When we got there we sat in Bella admiring the house from a distance when the owner, who was mowing the lawn, surprised us by coming over to invite us to take a look around.

Dan is an architect who recently bought the house and made his dream of living in a FLW home finally true. He shared with us the history of the house and invited us in. He and his wife are restoring the house, which had been left empty for at least ten years.

Next we drove north about an hour to Millstone NJ and parked for the night at Stop & Shop where we got a movie from RedBox. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a pretty good movie and we both enjoyed it.
