Simple pleasures

Since Bernie’s brother had to go to work early today, he gave us a key to his apartment. When we got up we went inside to take care of some things. Mar started the laundry while Bernie took Sean’s dog for a walk. He is the cutest little dog.

We were able to take showers in a “real” bathroom and have enough water pressure to actually wash our hair too. The simple pleasures in life …

After that Mar gave Bernie a haircut out on the back porch. There was a chill in the air, even sitting in the sun it was a little cold. This is the third time Mar has cut Bernie’s hair since the start of the trip and we hope she gets a little better each time. This is one of the things we do to save money on the road.

When Sean got home from work, Bernie walked with him to Target for a few things. He lives really close to some stores and food shopping. It is a great area, with everything you need right at your fingertips.

Then Bernie cooked a succulent dinner of simmering steak with a Latin flair, and rice and beans. Usually Mar makes the rice and beans, but Bernie tried tonight so she could learn too, and she passed with flying colors, it was delicious. Almost as good as Mar’s … :-)

After dinner, we got to see some pictures of Sean’s recent trip to Germany, he visited some beautiful places and also a concentration camp. Then we went back to Bella for the night.
